There were several cars that caught my eye but I kept coming back to this one.
302 Small Block Ford Windsor
Ad said "New NAPA longblock." I'm not sure when the swap was done but it wasn't exactly "fresh". Compression is good and it's not leaking or burning oil.
Back Seat
Original interior is in good shape in the back with only a small tear.
Some original parts were saved
Original air cleaner, steering wheel and jack.
Door plate
Marti Report
Just a basic Black Jade 302-2V coupe with power steering and air conditioning.
On the trailer
I was told the car spent most of its life in California. This is apparent in the lack of body rust. Everything felt solid on original inspection.
On the trailer
The car would start but was difficult to keep running. It usually wouldn't go into gear. Steering was a chore. Brakes barely worked.
On the trailer
No brake lights or turn signals.
On the trailer
A test drive was out of the question so I really wasn't sure what I was getting into. I still felt pretty sure I wasn't in over my head.
Made it home.
I sacrificed my side of the garage to become a do-everything auto shop for the next year.
Auto Archaeology
It was fun discovering all the hidden treasures under/in the seats, under the carpet, lost behind the dash, etc.
